Women's basketball completes staff
August 13, 2010
Loyola University New Orleans head women’s basketball coach Kellie Kennedy announced the hiring of assistant coaches Lindsay Werntz and Denis Aidoo.
Werntz comes to Loyola after a head coaching stint at Hill College in Hillsboro, Texas in 2007-08. She also spent time as an assistant at the University of Nevada, Midland College and Florida Gulf Coast where the team recorded a 30-1 record in 2002-03.
Werntz finished her college basketball career at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in general studies. She went on to receive a master’s degree in health and physical education at Marshall University in 2004.
Aidoo joins the Wolfpack as a part time assistant after a one-year stint as an assistant coach for the Slidell High School boys’ varsity basketball team. From 2005-07, he served as an assistant for the Pope John Paul II High School girls’ basketball team.
Aidoo is currently the head coach of the AAU Kenner Angels under 15 girls program and earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from LSU.
"I’m really excited about the addition of Lindsay and Denis to our staff. They bring a tremendous amount of experience and knowledge to the court. They will fit in well with the goals and mission of our program," said third-year head coach Kellie Kennedy.
