Dining Services partners with local company for Gulf Relief

Loyola University New Orleans’ Dining Services embarks on the new school year with new deals, meals and a philanthropic partnership .
Loyola has partnered with a local stationary company, Two Sprouts, to raise money to save the gulf. Two Sprouts has created “Save Our Coast and Wildlife” T-shirts which will be sold on Loyola’s campus through The Market and Tulane’s campus through the Lavin-Bernick Center, McAlister's Market and LeGourmet.
To further its efforts, Loyola’s Dining Services will be collecting donations at all its registers. All the money received through donations and T-shirt sales will be donated to the Gulf Relief.
Dining Services is also teaming up with LaDivina Gelateria, a local Italian sandwich and gelato restaurant, to provide new dining options for Loyola students.
LaDivina will be located on the first floor of Carrolton Residential Hall and is scheduled to open on August 16 with a grand opening tentatively scheduled for Labor Day. LaDivina will serve paninis, salads, gelato and coffee which students can purchase with their Loyola Wolfbucks.
More details will come later about the grand opening as planning develops.
La Divina will make Loyola its third home, in addition to its Magazine and St. Peters Street locations. The gelateria has received national recognition through exceptional reviews from the New York Post, Wikitravel and Chef John Besh, owner of Restaurant August, who said La Divina had "the best Italian ice cream and sorbet I've ever tasted."
Loyola’s Dining Services has also created new deals for this school year through “Fill My Fridge,” an event during move in weekend that helps parents and students stock their residence hall rooms with essential food items. The event will take place on August 22 and 23. Numerous items will be available for purchase in bulk, including water, chips and candy.
