July 16, 2010

Matt Lambert ’92, a Loyola University New Orleans College of Arts and Sciences graduate (now College of Humanities and Natural Sciences), has returned to his alma mater as the associate director of the university’s Public Affairs team.

Lambert comes home to Loyola after a nearly two decade long career, first as an award-winning journalist and later as a successful communications executive.

Most recently, Lambert worked as the national communications director for the Council for a Strong America, a Washington, D.C., based nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to early learning opportunities for at-risk children. Lambert also spent three years on Capitol Hill working as the communications director for several prominent members of Congress.

After graduating from Loyola with a degree in history, Lambert embarked on an 11-year career as a news and sports journalist with stops at several local and national media outlets, including WWL 870 AM (New Orleans), WDAM-TV (Hattiesburg, Miss.) and WDSU-TV (New Orleans), among others. During his time as a journalist, Lambert was recognized on numerous occasions by the Associated Press, winning several awards, including top honors in investigative journalism in both Louisiana and Mississippi.
