Loyola alumnus to anchor broadcast news station in San Diego

Loyola University New Orleans Mass Communication alumnus, Mark Mullen, ’86, has been named anchor for KNSD-TV, NBC San Diego. Mullen joins the San Diego team after working as a national correspondent for ABC News based out of Los Angeles.
Mullen began his career as a reporter for WLOX-TV in Biloxi, Miss., and then as an anchor with KDFW-TV in Dallas. Mullen later worked with KRON-TV in San Francisco, ABC News in New York, KING-TV in Seattle and NBC News in Beijing, China as the chief Asia correspondent.
Mullen’s exceptional work as an anchor and reporter has won him numerous national and regional recognitions, including a National Emmy Award for Outstanding News Coverage. He was named Major Market Outstanding Young Journalist of the Year by the Society of Professional Journalists and also has been honored by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the Associated Press and the Press Club of Dallas.
Mullen will begin anchoring for NBC San Diego in late June.
