Jazz pianist and professor performs with Trinity Artist Series Sunday

Sanford Hinderlie, New Orleans jazz pianist, composer and the Rita O. Huntsinger Distinguished Professor in Music at Loyola University New Orleans, will perform a concert of original jazz piano compositions at Trinity Episcopal Church, located at 1329 Jackson Ave., this Sunday, May 23, at 5 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.
Hinderlie will showcase original music from his latest recording “Hinderlie Plays Hinderlie” as part of the Trinity Artist Series.
Hinderlie has performed as a jazz pianist throughout the world, including concerts in the Far East, the Soviet Union, the Republics of Georgia and Armenia, the Middle East, Europe and the United States. As a professor of music at Loyola, he works with students in the College of Music, teaching music technology and contemporary music.
