Dance Team steps it up for Mardi Gras parades

The Loyola University New Orleans Dance Team is keeping in step this Mardi Gras season by marching in several parades.

The team marches in three parades this weekend, beginning tonight with the Krewe of Centurions in Metairie at 7 p.m. The team will also participate in two Uptown parades, the Krewe of Tucks on Saturday, Feb. 13, at 12:15 p.m., and the Krewe of Thoth on Sunday, Feb. 14, at noon. They marched last weekend with the Krewe of Excalibur and the Krewe of Pontchartrain.

The dance team has been an active participant in New Orleans Mardi Gras for the past eight years. This year’s team consists of captains Maria Pinheiro, Alexa Triplett and Kimberly Kolb and dancers Stephanie Barthelemy, Alyssa Bofferdine, Kayla Cox, Jennifer Dignan, Krystal LaBelle, Tyler Lange, Jessica Oliva and Raynesha Williams.
