Smith led the ‘Pack to an easy 82-41 win over Jesuit rival Spring Hill on Jan. 28 with 20 points, four assists, and three steals.
Smith, a graduate of Reserve Christian School in LaPlace, La., continues to add to her Loyola record career scoring total which sits at 2,248 points. Since the first game of the season, she has scored at least 11 points in each contest. Smith leads the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference and ranks 23rd in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics with 17.0 points per game.
The Jesuit Basketball Spotlight pilot project is a nationwide effort to bring greater positive awareness to Jesuit education and mission. This project was developed by the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU) in response to member institutions wanting to spread the word of Jesuit higher education through the more than 90 basketball games in which Jesuit institutions play each other (men and women) this 2009-2010 year. You can find more information on the project at http://www.ajcunet.edu/jesuitbasketball.
