Loyola's Madeline Falcone named NAIA cross country scholar athlete

For the second consecutive year, Loyola University New Orleans women’s cross country student-athlete Madeline Falcone was named to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Daktronics Scholar Athlete list.
Falcone, a senior from Lynchburg, Va., qualified for the NAIA National Championships for the second consecutive season. She finished sixth at the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Championship meet and was named All-GCAC for 2009.
A transfer from Virginia Commonwealth last season, Falcone earned Newcomer of the Year in the state by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association in 2008. She was also All-GCAC, finishing fourth in the conference meet last year.
