WGSO to air eight 2009-10 Wolfpack men's basketball games

For the third year in a row, the Wolfpack men’s basketball team will partner with WGSO 990 AM to broadcast eight Wolfpack men’s games during the 2009-10 season.
Ken Trahan, ’79, will handle the play-by-play duties for WGSO, with fellow Loyola grad Jude Young, ’00, filling in on occasion.
The radio schedule starts Nov. 14 when the Wolfpack welcomes the Brewton-Parker Barons to The Den for a 3 p.m. contest.
The radio crew will travel with the Wolfpack Nov. 17 when Loyola takes on the Southern Miss Golden Eagles in an exhibition contest at 7 p.m. from the Reed Green Coliseum in Hattiesburg, Miss.
The Wolfpack’s Nov. 22 tilt against the Lambuth Eagles in The Den will be on the 990 radio airwaves. That game is scheduled to tip off at 3 p.m.
The final road game to go on 990’s airwaves will be the Wolfpack’s Dec. 3 exhibition contest against the Nicholls State Colonels at 6:30 p.m. in Stopher Gym in Thibodaux, La.
The radio crew will come to The Den for a 7 p.m. game on Dec. 30 as the Wolfpack welcome the Talladega College Tornadoes.
In 2010, Loyola’s game against the St. Thomas Celts at 3 P.M. on Jan 3. will be broadcast on the radio.
A pair of Gulf Coast Athletic Conference games will air on WGSO, starting with the Wolfpack’s Jan. 16 game against the Tougaloo Bulldogs, with tip off set for 7 p.m. in The Den.
The final regular season game to air on 990 AM is the Wolfpack’s Jan. 30 game against the William Carey Crusaders at 7 p.m. in The Den.
All games on WGSO start with a 15 minute pregame show prior to the tip off.
All Wolfpack home games can also be seen live on the internet via ATWSportscast on the Wolfpack athletics website. Loyola alums Richard Thiberville, Jr., ’07, and Mario Faranda, ’08, have the call on the internet side of the broadcast.
