Loyola alumnus Sean O'Keefe appointed to European space agency

O'Keefe was an honorary degree recipient and speaker at the 2003 Loyola University New Orleans commencement ceremony.

Loyola University New Orleans alumnus and former NASA Administrator Sean O’Keefe, ‘77, has been appointed to head the North American arm of the European Aeronautic Defense & Space Co. He begins work on Nov. 1.

O’Keefe, who was most recently vice president of GE Aviation’s Washington operations, served as Louisiana State University chancellor from 2005-08 and as NASA administrator from 2001-05. He was also Navy secretary and Pentagon comptroller during the first Bush administration.
