The Sporting News named Loyola University New Orleans’ Ryan Brock NAIA Pre-Season All-American Honorable Mention and tapped the Wolfpack as a “possible breakthrough” team for 2009-10.
Brock, a junior forward from New Orleans, La., was Loyola’s top scorer in 2008-09, averaging 19.9 points. Brock scored 578 points for the year, which ranked fifth at Loyola for a single season. Along with being named All-Gulf Coast Athletic Conference and GCAC Newcomer of the Year, Brock also received an all-American honorable mention and was named second team all-Louisiana. The Louisiana Association of Basketball Coaches named Brock the Louisiana Small College Player of the Year.
