Wolfpack's Gill, Worsham earn GCAC weekly volleyball honors

For their performances against Belhaven College and the University of West Florida over the last week, Loyola outside hitter Gina Gill was named GCAC hitter of the week and setter Samantha Worsham earned the conference’s setter of the week honor on Tuesday.
Gill, a 5-foot 10-inch sophomore outside hitter from St. Michael the Archangel High School in Baton Rouge, La., amassed 32 kills in the two matches over the last week on 83 total attacks, with a hitting percentage of .241. In those two matches, she recorded two service aces and five block assists.
Worsham, a 5-foot 7-inch freshman setter from Mother McAuley High School in Chicago, Ill., assisted on 76 Wolfpack points, collecting eight kills of her own on 24 total attacks. She also scored four service aces and assisted on three blocks.
In those two matches, the Wolfpack defeated the Belhaven Lady Blazers in five sets, but then fell to the 19th-ranked team in NCAA D-II West Florida Lady Argonauts in four sets. Both matches were played in The Den.
