University officials encourage Loyola community to get seasonal flu vaccine

Loyola University New Orleans continues to monitor the H1N1 swine flu virus, but also reminds the campus community to take precautions against the seasonal flu.
In partnership with Student Health Services and the University Counseling Center at Loyola University, the staff of the Student Health Center at Tulane University has made available regular seasonal flu shots to Loyola students, faculty and staff. Shots will be available for $20. Cash, check and credit cards are accepted. Loyola’s Student Health Services has limited doses of the seasonal flu vaccine, however, these are solely reserved for students.
Shots will be available at the following locations at Tulane University (please note this schedule has recently changed):
- Tues., Sept. 29, 5:30 – 7 p.m., Wall residence hall lobby
- Wed., Sept. 30, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Lavin-Bernick Center for University Life, Pederson Lounge (enter from McAlister Avenue)
- Wed., Sept. 30, 5:30 – 7 p.m., Mayer residence hall lobby
In addition, two local Walgreens pharmacies are offering the seasonal flu shots for $24.99:
