Mass communication professor experiences featured in new book
August 28, 2009
Mike Perlstein, visiting assistant professor in the School of Mass Communication in the College of Social Sciences, recently had a reprint of his first-person account of his experience as a newspaper reporter covering Hurricane Katrina in the book, “The Mind of a Journalist - How Reporters View Themselves, Their World and Their Craft,” by Jim Willis.
In addition to Perlstein’s story, “Covering Katrina — On Taking it Personally,” the book features excerpts from interviews and correspondence with the former Times-Picayune reporter.
