New Orleans Magazine names Loyola alumna to top 10 list of female achievers
July 17, 2009
In its July 2009 issue, New Orleans Magazine named Loyola University New Orleans alumna Amy Boyle Collins to its list of top 10 female achievers in New Orleans. The 10 women were chosen by magazine editors with recommendations solicited from readers.
Collins, the executive director of the Young Leadership Council, was recognized for her work in leading and growing the organization, which promotes voluntarism and civic involvement among young professionals. Collins is responsible for fundraising, building community relationships and managing the YLC and is credited with increasing its membership to 1,300 after a post-Katrina low of 700 members.
Collins joined the YLC as a volunteer while working at Logan Marketing and was hired as the full-time executive director in 2006. She is a 1996 graduate of the School of Mass Communication in the College of Social Sciences.
In the article, Collins said her greatest achievement is “that I have a job where I get paid to make a difference in the city I love.”
