Jesuit Summer Institute fellows bring memories, lessons home from New Orleans
On Friday, June 12, more than two dozen fellows of the first Jesuit Summer Institute for Advanced Study presented reflections on their two-week immersion into the city of New Orleans.
Ignacio Volunteers return from intense international service trip
Twenty-four Loyola University New Orleans students participating in the Ignacio Volunteers Program recently returned from two separate service immersion trips to Kingston, Jamaica. The two groups worked with disadvantaged youth and elderly in poverty-stricken areas of the Caribbean island.
Loyola remembers "Dr. De"
Winston Russel deMonsabert, Ph.D., a 1937 chemistry graduate and former faculty member of Loyola University, passed away on June 8, in Chantilly, Va. He was 93.

Dr. Janet R. Matthews, professor of psychology in the College of Humanities and Natural Sciences, was recently elected as president-elect of Division 31 of the American Psychological Association.
Law Clinic instructor invited to speak in Las Vegas
Hiroko Kusuda, clinical instructor of immigration law in the Stuart H. Smith Law Clinic and Center for Social Justice at Loyola University College of Law, was an invited speaker at the American Immigration Lawyers Association's Annual Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, this month.
Foley receives certification
Mary C. Foley, R.N., M.S.N., full-time instructor of nursing in the School of Nursing in the College of Social Sciences, obtained the American Nurses Credentialing Center Board Certification as a Certified Nurse Executive.
Choral alumni gather for reunion events
Alumni from the choral program at Loyola University New Orleans who studied under Larry Wyatt, Ph.D., from 1973-1987 will reunite this weekend.
