Criminal justice chair joins editorial board, presents paper with fellow professors

William E. Thornton, Ph.D., professor of sociology and chair of the Loyola University New Orleans Department of Criminal Justice in the College of Social Sciences, was appointed to the editorial board of the Journal of Applied Security Research published by the Taylor & Francis Group.
Thornton, Lydia Voigt, Ph.D., distinguished professor of sociology and chair of the Department of Sociology, and Patrick D. Walsh, Ph.D., assistant professor of criminal justice, presented a paper titled “Crime, Criminal Justice and Community Efficacy: Insights Gained from the Katrina Disaster” at the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences in Boston, Mass., in March 2009.
