WDSU hires Loyola alum for morning weather spot
May 8, 2009
Loyola University alumnus and New Orleans native Jay Gallé will join WDSU-TV's staff of meteorologists, the television station announced.
Gallé returns to New Orleans after forecasting in Salinas, Calif., and doing a little work in Hollywood. "Growing up in New Orleans, I developed a real fascination and healthy respect for the weather," Gallé said in a WDSU news release.
"In this part of the world, you absolutely need to know what's going on with the weather. It has a tremendous impact on all of our lives. It's one of the reasons I pursued a career in meteorology."
Coming home to join WDSU. ... It's really something special," he said. Gallé graduated from Holy Cross High School and received a bachelor’s degree in communication from Loyola University in 1993.
We're always pleased when we can bring a talented New Orleanian home," said WDSU President and General Manager Joel Vilmenay in the release.
