Loyola webcasts 2009 unified commencement live

Loyola University New Orleans is pleased to announce that the Spring 2009 unified commencement ceremony will be webcast live, providing access to family and friends who are unable to attend.
On Saturday, May 9, the webcast begins with the procession at 9:45 a.m. and the ceremony at 10 a.m.
The Hon. Bobby Jindal, Governor of Louisiana, is the 2009 unified commencement ceremony distinguished speaker. Gov. Jindal will receive an honorary degree along with:
- Leah Chase - chef, author, civic leader and advocate for the arts
- Herbie Hancock - chairman of the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz
- Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Russel Honoré - U.S. Army, commander of Joint Task Force Katrina
- Wardell Quezergue - award-winning music arranger, producer and bandleader
