New Orleans International Piano Competition gold medalist performs at Loyola

Acclaimed pianist and 2006 New Orleans International Piano Competition gold medalist Dustin Gledhill perform a solo concert at Loyola University New Orleans on Monday, May 11, in Roussel Hall.

Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for all Loyola students, faculty and staff. Tickets are available online at www.montage.loyno.edu, by calling 504-865-2074 or at the door 30 minutes prior to the performance.

The concert will feature Sonata in C Major (K159)andSonata in G Major (K13) by Domenico Scarlatti; Sonata no.17 in B-flat Major (K570) by W.A. Mozart; Andante and Variations in F minor (Hob.XVII:6) by Franz Joseph Haydn; Etude op. 25 no. 7 in C-sharp minor by Frédéric Chopin; Jeux d’Eau by Maurice Ravel; Hungarian Rhapsody no. 2 in C-sharp minor by Franz Liszt; and selections from 12 Etudes, book two by Claude Debussy.

Gledhill holds more than 20 first-prize awards from national and international competitions. His career has taken him throughout Western Europe, Russia and North America, and he has performed with several orchestras including the San Diego Symphony, Utah Symphony, Florida Space Coast Philharmonic, Louisiana Philharmonic and Hilton Head Orchestra. He has also appeared on live broadcasts for nonprofit fundraisers, at celebrity events and at a gala honoring Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales.

His scholarships include those from the Royal Academy of Music in London, Manhattan School of Music in New York and Brigham Young University School of Music. Gledhill has studied with Dr. Irene Peery-Fox, Christopher Elton and currently with Nina Svetlanova at the Manhattan School of Music.
