Loyola welcomes alumni during 2009 commencement

April 24, 2009

This year marks several firsts for Loyola University New Orleans’ Alumni Reunion Weekend, coming up Friday, May 8 through Sunday, May 10.

For the first time, the reunion will be held in conjunction with commencement events, allowing alumni to celebrate their Wolfpack pride alongside graduating seniors. The annual Senior Crawfish Boil has been added to the Alumni Reunion Weekend lineup, offering the graduating class a chance to rub elbows with visiting alumni as they reconnect to Loyola. The weekend of events also includes the newly established President’s Maroon and Gold Gala at the Intercontinental Hotel which will feature gourmet hors d’oeuvres, cocktails and musical entertainment by MoJEAUX.

While the Loyola University Alumni Association will welcome its newest members, the Class of 2009, it will also induct its 50-year graduates from the Class of 1959 into the Golden Wolves Society during the weekend. Members of the Golden Wolves will walk for the first time at Loyola’s commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 9 at the Louisiana Superdome. Additionally, graduates of 1959, 1969, 1974, 1984, 1989, 1999, and 2004, will celebrate milestone reunions this year, and each class will have its own class dinner.
