Wolfpack's Mainguy, Woodruff named to scholar-athletes list

Mainguy, a management major who started 29 of 30 games this season for Loyola University New Orleans, makes her third appearance on the scholar list. In her senior season, she averaged 7.5 points and ranked 30th in the NAIA with 8.3 rebounds per game. Mainguy, a native of Houston, Texas, also led Loyola with three double-doubles on the season.
Woodruff, who is majoring in psychology, started 12 games for the Wolfpack this season, including the last 11 of the year. She averaged 2.2 points and scored a season-high eight against Belhaven. Woodruff, a sophomore from Destrahan, La., also recorded a career-best six steals at Spring Hill.
With contributions from both players, Loyola finished the year with a 23-7 overall record. The Wolfpack won the GCAC regular season title for the third straight season and the GCAC tournament for the second time in three years.
In order to be named to the scholar-athletes list, a player must be at least a junior in academic standing and maintain a 3.5 grade point average.
