Loyola men's basketball receives votes for third straight week

The Loyola University New Orleans men’s basketball team received votes in the 2008-09 NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll for the third consecutive week, after finishing the week with a record of 1-1.
The Wolfpack (12-6, 5-2 GCAC) are ranked 31st in the country after picking up 21 votes. Loyola hosted Mobile (11-7, 3-4 GCAC) on Jan. 22 and held off the Rams 62-57. On the following Saturday evening, the Wolfpack lost a close one at The Den to Belhaven (11-7, 3-4 GCAC), falling 73-76.
Monday night, Loyola hosted No. 20 LSU-Shreveport (12-7, 5-2 GCAC) and came out on top, winning 82-74. The win put the ‘Pack in a first place tie with Shreveport, Tougaloo and Xavier.
On Saturday, Loyola will stay in the Crescent City, playing at SUNO (2-14, 2-5 GCAC) at 7 p.m.
