Loyola men receive votes in latest poll
January 23, 2009
After finishing the past week with a 1-1 record, the Loyola University New Orleans men’s basketball team received 20 votes in the latest 2008-09 NAIA Division I Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll.
The 20 points ranks Loyola at 32nd, dropping three spots from last week.
Last Thursday in Loyola’s home conference opener, the Wolfpack was upset by the Badgers of Spring Hill, 58-61. Loyola then traveled to Tougaloo (10-6, 3-1 GCAC), and even without leading scorer Ryan Brock, the Wolfpack managed to hand the Bulldogs their first conference loss, winning 71-69 in double overtime. It was the second Saturday in a row the Wolfpack needed overtimes to secure a victory.
Loyola is currently 1-1 against teams in the top 25.
