Loyola College of Law offering income tax assistance

Loyola University College of Law will again offer the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program this year to provide tax preparation assistance for people with low to moderate incomes.
The sessions, designed by the Internal Revenue Service, begin Saturday, Jan. 31, and continue through Monday, April 13. Hours for the tax preparation sessions are Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Mondays and Thursdays, from 5 to 7 p.m. There will not be sessions on the Saturday and Monday before Mardi Gras, Feb. 21 and Feb. 23, as well as the day before Easter, April 11. For hours on Thursday, April 9, contact the office.
Tax preparation services for members of the Spanish-speaking community will be offered by appointment on Saturdays.
Those attending tax preparation sessions should bring identification, Social Security cards for each member of their household, tax returns and all other tax documents, including W-2 forms, 1099 forms and Social Security statements.
