Falcone is women's cross country Newcomer of the Year
January 9, 2009
The Louisiana Sports Writers Association recently selected Loyola’s Madeline Falcone as women’s cross country Newcomer of the Year last month.
Falcone’s consistency with the Wolfpack this year was rewarded, having finished in the top 20 in the three meets she ran in this season. The junior from Lynchburg, Va., finished fifth at the Mobile Rampage with a time of 21:39.21. In the GCAC Championships, her time of 20:55.18 gave her a fourth place finish and qualified her to compete in the NAIA National Cross Country Championship.
Falcone was also selected to the All-Louisiana Women’s Cross Country Team by the LSWA.
