Loyola alumnus, former instructor elected to US House of Representatives
Loyola University New Orleans College of Law alumnus and former Jesuit seminarian Anh "Joseph" Cao was elected Saturday, Dec. 6 to represent Louisiana's 2nd district in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Visual Arts department members aid in downtown artification project
Loyola University New Orleans' visual arts faculty member Alan Gerson and visual arts junior Caitlin Clifford were invited to produce artwork for the New Orleans Downtown Development District's Artification Project. Their works were selected from 127 entries in a blind-jury process.
Loyola Criminal Justice chair chosen for JP board
Loyola Professor of Sociology William E. Thornton, Ph.D., chair of the Department of Criminal Justice, was elected to serve as a member of the Jefferson Parish Children and Youth Planning Board.
Pi Sigma Alpha awarded grant
Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society, awarded a $600 grant to Loyola's Pi Sigma Alpha chapter on Dec. 1 to pay for the chapter's banquet and research paper contest.
Loyola women's hoops: Council has career-high day in win over Allen
Garkeiva Council had a career high 20 points as Loyola defeated Allen 79-36 Saturday afternoon in the Allen Gymnasium.
Wolfpack volleyball trio honored by AVCA
Loyola volleyball players Mary Seals and Gina Gill were named to the 2008 American Volleyball Coaches Association NAIA All-Mid-South Region Team. Sarah Howard was awarded with an Honorable Mention.
