Office of Public Affairs and the 2008 Bateman team take home honors from PRSA New Orleans

The work of Loyola University New Orleans’ Office of Public Affairs and the 2008 Bateman team received recognition last night during the Public Relations Society of America’s New Orleans chapter Anvil Awards banquet.
The Office of Public Affairs won two Awards of Excellence. Loyola’s 2008 Commencement won in the category of Special Events/Observances/Non Profit, submitted by Special Events Coordinator Angela Vachetta Turnbull. The 2008 President’s Forum Series won in the category of External Relations/Non Profit/Association, submitted by Associate Director of Public Affairs Catherine Koppel.
The 2008 Loyola PRSSA Bateman team won an Award of Excellence in the External Relations/Non Profit category for their “Step Up, Strap In” campaign to promote seat belt safety among tweens for Safe Kids Buckle Up, a corporate responsibility program sponsored by General Motors. Team members include: Shannon Corrigan, Danny Mazier, Andrea Mulcrone, and Kelly Rayner, all ‘08 graduates of the College of Social Sciences’ School of Mass Communication in the public relations sequence, and current senior Kelly Roth.
In addition, Katie Frattaroli won the annual PRSA New Orleans Scholarship. Frattaroli is a senior in the School of Mass Communication in the public relations sequence.
