Wolfpack volleyball trio wins player of the week honors

Loyola volleyball players Mary Seals, Keelyn Henderson and Sarah Howard have been named the GCAC’s hitter, libero and setter of the week respectively for the period ending Nov. 2.
Seals, a senior outside hitter from Austin, Tex., had 22 kills for the week as the Wolfpack defeated Dillard and Mississippi Valley State. Seals broke the Wolfpack’s career kills record in the win over MVSU. She also had a service ace, a block and a dig. This is Seals’ third Hitter of the Week award this season.
Henderson, a senior libero from Denver, Colo., had 31 digs in the two matches. She served two aces and picked up an assist during the week. This is the seventh Libero of the Week award for Henderson this season.
Howard, a senior setter from Houston, Tex., assisted on 72 Wolfpack points in the two wins. Howard also had two kills, two service aces, eight digs and four blocks. This is Howard’s second straight Setter of the Week award and her fifth award of the season.
The Wolfpack will host the GCAC Tournament at The Den on November 14 and 15. Loyola will be the tournament’s second seed and will face the Belhaven Lady Blazers in the first match of the tournament at 3 p.m. on Nov. 14.
