Loyola men's hoops to broadcast eight games on radio
November 7, 2008
The Loyola’s men’s basketball team will be on the radio eight times this season, starting with last night's exhibition game against cross-street rival Tulane.
The remaining seven games will be broadcast on WGSO 990AM. In November, radio games include Nov. 9, at 4 p.m. against Huston Tillotson University, and also on the Nov. 22, at 5:30 p.m. versus Millsaps College.
On Jan. 3 at 3 p.m., the game against Berry College will be broadcast, as well as on Jan. 24 against conference opponent Belhaven at 4 p.m.
Other games include city-rival Xavier at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 4, and a match-up against Tougaloo at 7:30 p.m. on Valentine’s Day.
The final broadcast of the season will be when Loyola travels to Belhaven on Feb. 21. Tip off in that tilt is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
Loyola alumnus Ken Trahan will be the primary play by play announcer with Jude Young filling in on occasion.
“We are extremely excited to be on WGSO 990AM again. The radio team, with Ken Trahan at the mic, is first class and they do an outstanding job. This will also allow our alumni and parents to listen to the game on the internet,” said Loyola head coach Dr. Michael Giorlando.
