Loyola Cross Country competes at University of Mobile

Madeline Falcone led Loyola with a fifth place finish as the men’s and women’s cross country teams participated at the University of Mobile Invitational on Saturday morning.
Falcone’s time of 21:39 in the 5000 meter course led the Wolfpack. Lauren Fereday was next across the line for Loyola in 10th place with a time of 22:20. Other competitors included Rachel Leonard 22:42 (12th), Joilynn Hollies 25:00 (19th), Olivia Taylor 25:40 (24th), Annelise Rickerts 25:41 (27th), and Kristen Francis 26:08 (28th). Fereday and Hollies each ran personal bests. The Loyola women placed third out of four teams.
For the men, Chris Kelliher was Loyola’s top finisher for the fourth consecutive race. Kelliher ran the men’s 5000 meter course in a time of 18:25 for ninth place. It was a personal best for Kelliher, who ran a 18:55 5K earlier this season.
Robert Hayden and Trevor McQueen completed the course together with Hayden coming in 25th with a time of 19:50 and McQueen in 26th place in 19:58. Both
Hayden and McQueen had personal bests. Justin Fecke was 29th with a personal best 20:17. Thomas Palacio completed the race in a time of 20:42 for 31st. The Loyola men were fifth out of five teams.
