Loyola volleyball duo earns GCAC honors

Loyola Duo Keelyn Henderson and Sarah Howard are at it again, both earning Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Honors for the week ending Oct. 5.
Senior Keelyn Henderson, was named Libero of the week for the fourth consecutive week this season. The Denver, Colo., native averaged 8.6 digs per game for the week. Henderson is also ranked 20th in NAIA in digs per game (5.4).
Howard, a two-time Setter of the Week, averaged 10.8 assists for the week. Howard, a senior from Houston, Tex., was also ranks 21st in the NAIA for assists per game (9.7) and 46th in the NAIA for service aces per game (5.7).
The Wolfpack (9-1), who are off to their best start in the programs history, will head to Montgomery, Ala., for the Faulkner University Invitational Tournament. Loyola’s first opponent at Faulkner will be the University of Maine at Machias at noon on Oct. 10th. At 2 p.m., the Wolfpack will take on Shorter College in their second match of the day in Faulkner.
