Ronald McDonald House gets a helping of support from Loyola’s Dining Services

Loyola University New Orleans Dining Services is leading a volunteer team of Sodexo managers from across the city to serve the families in residence at the New Orleans Ronald McDonald House. Sodexo is the university’s food service provider.
Loyola’s dining services team is committed to contributing locally with what they know best…food. Ben Hartley, dining services general manager said, “In keeping with the Jesuit tradition of service to others, we want to give back to those who are in need. A hot and tasty meal may not mean much to some of us, but it’s one less thing the residents of Ronald McDonald House have to worry about.”
On Friday, July 18, at 4 p.m., the group will visit the Ronald McDonald House at 4403 Canal Street to not only deliver food, but to hold a mid-summer cook out with BBQ chicken, roasted corn on the cob, baked beans, potato salad and homemade ice cream. Hartley also says the group has committed to provide service for the families once a month to make their stay more pleasant.
Ronald McDonald House is a place where the parents of hospitalized children can stay for reduced or no cost. Currently, there are 271 Ronald McDonald Houses in operation in 30 countries. Normally, there are 35 to 40 family members at any given time in the New Orleans house.
