Nannette Jolivette Brown nominated by New Orleans Bar Association

Visiting assistant clinical professor and licensed attorney Nannette Jolivette Brown has been nominated by the New Orleans Bar Association and selected by the city of New Orleans as a community panel representative to serve on the Selection Review Panel for Environmental Law and Acquisition Responses for requests for proposals submitted to the city.

Jolivette Brown has also been accepted into the Harvard Law School Mediation Certification Program. She is one of 45 people chosen from hundreds of applications submitted per year from people around the world. The program will be held at Harvard Law School June 9-13.

Jolivette Brown’s article, “Negotiate?;” a book review and an article on the subjects covered by Linda Babcock and Sara Laschever in their respective books, Women Don't Ask which illustrates that even women who negotiate brilliantly on behalf of others often falter when it comes to asking for themselves; and Ask for It, which lays out a game plan or guide to negotiation that starts before you get to the bargaining table, will be published in The Louisiana Bar Journal August/September edition.

Jolivette Brown has been asked to present at the Lafayette Bar Association’s Bench/Bar Conference on September 19, 2008 on “Mediation.”

Professor Jolivette Brown will be featured in The Complete Lawyer, a bimonthly e-news publication in an article titled, “What Makes Lawyers Successful?”

Jolivette Brown has been asked to serve on the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Section’s 2009 Annual Conference Planning Committee.
