Loyola’s Fontenot named CoSIDA Academic All-District

The College Sports Information Director’s Association (CoSIDA) has named Loyola baseball player Kevin Fontenot Academic All-District first team for District Six.

Fontenot, a junior pitcher and outfielder out of Baton Rouge’s Redemptorist High School, set two Loyola single season records in 2008 with 59 runs scored and 43 stolen bases. He finished the ’08 season hitting .311 along with a 1-2 record on the mound with three saves. Fontenot is majoring in physics.
