Dr. Barbara C. Ewell presents paper at convention in Virginia

Dr. Barbara C. Ewell, Dorothy H. Brown Distinguished Professor of English, presented a paper, “The Awakening and the Great Storm of 1893,” on a panel entitled “New Orleans and Catastrophe” at the biennial convention of the Society for the Study of Southern Literature (SSSL) at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Viriginia, April 17-20.
Ewell also served as moderator for the panel and was elected to the Executive Committee of the SSSL and will serve as the co-director of the next biennial conference, scheduled for the spring of 2010 in New Orleans.
