COMMENCEMENT CEREMONIES

If you are participating in the Undergraduate and Graduate Unified Ceremony, please report to the Louisiana Superdome, “Visiting Team Locker Rooms” (Gate A, Ground Level, Poydras Street side of the Superdome), no later than 9 a.m. on Saturday morning. NOTE: This location is different from what was sent out in previous materials. Here we will robe in academic attire and assemble in the proper order for the ceremonial procession.

The processional order for the university commencement ceremonies will be as follows:

1. Mace Bearer & University Banner Carrier
2. Students
3. Faculty/Staff
4. Official Commencement Stage Party

The processional lines will begin moving into position approximately 15 minutes before the ceremonies. Following the candidates for graduation, the processional line of faculty members and administrative staff will be directed to their designated seating on the stage. Those participating in the stage party will follow and continue onto the front of the platform, as directed by commencement marshals. All participants and guests should remain standing through the singing of the National Anthem and the Invocation.

The order of proceedings for the ceremony will be listed in your program, which you will receive in the meeting area upon your arrival. The Unified Commencement Ceremony should last approximately two hours. The College of Law Commencement Ceremony should last approximately 90 minutes.

Upon the completion of each ceremony, commencement marshals will direct the stage party, followed by the faculty and staff, to begin their recessional walk.

If you will be joining us for the College of Law Commencement Ceremony, please report to the Louisiana Superdome, “Visting Team Locker Rooms” (Gate A, Ground Level, Poydras Street side of the Superdome), no later than 4 p.m. on Saturday evening. NOTE: This location is different from what was sent out in previous materials.

Here we will robe in academic attire and assemble in the proper order for the ceremonial procession.
