Carol Leake, associate professor of drawing and painting, will have her series, "New Orleans Jazz, Rhythm and Blues," showcased at the Uptown Gallery, 139 Broadway, from April 5 to May 6. Leake will also have selections from the same series displayed in the "Big Chief VIP Lounge" at the 2008 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.

William E. Thornton, Ph.D. (professor and chair, Department of Criminal Justice) and Lydia Voigt, Ph.D. (distinguished professor and chair, Department of Sociology) chaired a session on Drug Court Evaluation and presented a paper, "The Use of Transdermal Alcohol Monitoring in Drug Courts: A Case Study and Assessment," at the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences national meetings in Cincinnati, Ohio, April 13-16.
