The University of Central Arkansas has invited Walter Block, Ph.D., Harold E. Wirth Eminent Scholar Endowed Chair and Professor of Economics, to a panel discussion on education reform at the University of Central Arkansas on Wednesday, February 20, 2008. Reforms enacted in Arkansas during this decade include the expansion of charter schools; fewer K-12 districts; increased transparency, including a uniform system of school accounting; and use of performance measures for administrators and teachers. Other reforms to be discussed at the forum include district letter grades based on student performance, school choice, vouchers, a tax-credit system, and education under a full free-enterprise system.
