Janet R. Matthews, Ph.D., professor of psychology, has two recent publications. Her article, “A Louisiana Psychologist’s Experience with Hurricanes Katrina and Rita” appears in the most recent issue of the refereed journal Psychological Services. She also has a chapter titled “Ethics of Therapists” in the just released two-volume 21st Century Psychology: A Reference Handbook published by Sage Publications.
John Biguenet, Robert Hunter Distinguished Professor, appeared with Ernest Gaines on a panel on “Writers Talk: The Many Faces of Louisiana,” as part of the Smithsonian Magazine CultureFest. His play, Rising Water, was presented as staged readings at the Playwrights Theatre of New Jersey as part of its New Play Roundtable Reading Series. He was interviewed on Writer’s Forum (WRBH-FM) and served as External Evaluator for Chatham University on a capstone promotion. The Royal National Theatre selected him for a Studio Attachment to develop his new play, Night Train, in a residency at its facilities in London.
