Friday, December 7, from 2 to 4 p.m., there will be a Library Visiting Committee Meeting in a multimedia classroom of the Monroe Library. There will be a presentation by John Snyder, Conrad N. Hilton Eminent Scholar in Music Industry Studies, and Alicia Hansen, library instruction and music coordinator, on the technology and research skills curriculum for the introduction to music industry studies program, followed by the library’s annual Christmas tea for students.

Friday, December 7, from 3 to 5 p.m., there will be a University Honors Program Party on the fourth floor of Monroe Library, in the Collins D. Diboll Art Gallery.

Friday, December 7, from 6 to 9 p.m., the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations will host a Young Alumni Christmas Cocktail Party at Winston’s Pub and Patio, 531 Metairie Rd., Metairie. This event is free. Light hors d’ouevres will be served.

Friday, December 7, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Music and Music Industry Study students, faculty, and staff are invited to the Monk Institute's Open Sessions with NEA Jazz Master Benny Golson in the Communications and Music Complex, Room 427.

Saturday, December 8, and Sunday, December 9, are designated as study days.

Saturday, December 8, will be the all-day Alumni Association Board Spiritual Retreat.

Saturday, December 8, at 7 p.m., the Wolfpack men’s basketball team will take on University of New Orleans.

Sunday, December 9, from 3 to 6 p.m., Loyola presents Christmas at Loyola: A Musical Showcase in the Holy Name of Jesus Church.

Tuesday, December 11, to Thursday, December 13, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., free finals massages will be offered in the Main Lounge of the Danna Student Center.

Tuesday, December 11, from 6 to 8 p.m., there will be a College of Business Alumni Board Meeting.

Tuesday, December 11, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., faculty and staff are invited to come hear about all of the great things United Way is doing in the community. Cookies and hot chocolate will be served. Pledge forms will be accepted. This event will take place in the Audubon Room, Danna Student Center, and is free and open to faculty and staff.

Wednesday, December 12, the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Performance will present a free performance, Club Thelonious at Tipitina's Uptown, with the Monk Institute Septet, followed by a jam session.Thursday, December 13, he Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Performance will present a the Monk Institute Septet at Snug Harbor.

Thursday, December 13, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the Greater Washington, D.C., Alumni Chapter presents the Washington, D.C., Alumni Chapter Christmas Cocktail Reception at the Army Navy Club, 901 Seventeenth Street NW. $20 per person, hors d’ouevres and cash bar. Coat and tie required. R.S.V.P. requested by Monday, December 10.

Friday, December 14, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., there will be a Board of Trustees meeting in Greenville Hall.

Sunday, December 16, Monday, December 17, and Tuesday, December 18, the women’s Wolfpack basketball team will participate in the Disney/NAIA Champions of Character Classic, in Orlando, Fla.
