Loyola Symphony Orchestra to perform romantic concert featuring Loyola faculty member and violinist Amy Thiaville

The Loyola University New Orleans College of Music and Fine Arts proudly presents “Celebrate with LSO” by the Loyola Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of new conductor Jean Montès, D.M.A, as part of the Montage Arts Series. This delightful orchestra celebration includes emotional and passionate musical selections by Johannes Brahms, Férère Laguerre, and Richard Wagner. The concert takes place on Sunday December 2, at 3 p.m., in Roussel Performance Hall, located in the Communications/Music Complex on Loyola’s main campus. The performance is free of charge and open to the public. Free parking will be available on campus.
Amy Thiaville, instructor of violin at Loyola and who most recently served as concertmaster for the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, will be featured as the soloist in the evocative Poem in F Major (Op. 25) by Ernest Chausson.
Other selections for the December 2 concert include the Overture to Rienzi by Richard Wagner, Conte Haitien (Haitian Tales) by Férère Laguerre, and Symphony No. 2 in D Major (Op. 73) by Johannes Brahms.
The Loyola University New Orleans Montage Series is a fine and performing arts showcase that exhibits some of the top arts events in the region. The series is dedicated to providing educational and entertaining performances, which include outstanding concerts, guest performers, masterclasses, jazz, dance, art exhibitions, and theatre productions in an intimate setting.
