November 30, 2007
The Loyola University New Orleans 2007 Bateman Student Team was honored with an Award of Merit in the external relations non profit category at the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) New Orleans chapter’s annual awards program on November 14.
The Loyola Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) Bateman team competes each spring in the Bateman Case Study Competition, the premier public relations competition in the country, in which Loyola consistently places as one of the top teams in the nation. The team submitted their campaign from the 2007 spring competition to the annual PRSA New Orleans chapter’s award competition for local public relations professionals. The team’s objectives for this year’s campaign were to raise awareness of family caregiver issues in the Greater New Orleans area and drive more traffic to the Family Caregiving 101 website.
Team members include mass communication students Stephen Brown, junior; Katherine Hebert, senior; Andre Breaux, senior; and Lyse Jackson, A’04. The team is lead by Cathy Rogers, Ph.D., associate professor in mass communication and the public relations sequence head.
