Loyola at a Glance

Loyolaĺs nationwide community service day to benefit communities throughout the nation

October 26, 2007

The Loyola University New Orleans Office of Alumni and Parent Relations and the Student Government Association will host their sixth Annual Wolves on the Prowl Community Service Day on Saturday, November 3. Students, alumni, parents, and friends in 13 alumni chapter cities across the country will be working together for the benefit of others. The nationwide event will also take place in Atlanta, Boston, Central Florida, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, New York, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and St. Louis.

The Wolves on the Prowl tradition supports Loyolaĺs call for social justice and the Jesuit ideal of ômen and women with and for others.ö In the Jesuit tradition, Loyola University New Orleans strives to develop individuals who dedicate their lives to service for others. Participants will seek perspective on their service through group and personal reflection. Reflection, an Ignatian value, gives meaning to action.

New Orleans volunteers will spend the day participating in one of the following projects: City Park clean up; Hunger Relief at Ozanam Inn; the Douglass High School painting project; or the Good Shepherd School and Project CARE field day. Volunteers will meet in the Loyola Peace Quad at 8 a.m. for the morning University Ministry and SGA welcome. Bus transportation will be provided by Loyola for off-campus projects.

For more information or to register to participate, please contact the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations at (800) 798-ALUM, (504) 861-5454 or e-mail alumni@loyno.edu
