Our Mission

Jesuit Education is rooted in the Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius of Loyola and in the founding of the Society of Jesus in 1540.   The Ignatian charism continues to inspire and shape Jesuit education, from the founding of the first Jesuit College in 1548 to the network of over 180 Jesuit higher education institutions around the world today, including 28 Jesuit Colleges and Universities in the United States.   It is the mission of the Office of Mission and Ministry to help and encourage our students to live out their personal vocation to follow the call that is within them.
