Summer Institute for Spanish & K-12 Teachers & High School Students

Loyola is offering a special summer institute for Spanish teachers, especially for those whose students have been selected to participate in Loyola's summer program. The Teaching of Spanish course allows Spanish teachers to become acquainted with the latest methodologies for the teaching of Spanish and permits them to make their own pedagogical contribution to what does and does not work in their particular classroom settings. It also allows them to follow the progress of their students who have accompanied them on Loyola's summer program. The Spanish teacher judged to having contributed the most to the pedagogy of Spanish will receive the Loyola Spanish Teacher Award of $1,000US.

Included in the special summer institute are two courses for K-12 teachers who wish to enrich the Latin American and Mexican content of their curricular offerings and earn continuing education or graduate credit. Humanities and Social Studies are covered in two separate courses.
