Alí R. Bustamante specializes in labor policy, economic justice, and economic impact analysis. Dr. Bustamante collaborates with governmental, civic, labor, and religious organizations in support of policies that support the well-being of families in the Gulf South. His research and analysis has been featured on NPR, CNN, CNN español, The Times-Picayune, Miami Herald, and other media outlets. Additionally, Dr. Bustamante provides economic analysis and testimony to government agencies seeking more equitable and sustainable economic policies.
Dr. Bustamante previously served as an instructor at Florida International University's Green School of International and Public Affairs, associated with the Department of Economics and the Center for Labor Research and Studies. Additionally, Dr. Bustamante served as a research associate for the Research Institute of Social and Economic Policy (RISEP), also at FIU.
