For ten years, Bernie Pinsonat served as executive assistant to U.S. Senator J. Bennett Johnston. In his capacity as the senator’s executive assistant, he was responsible for state coordination of staff. Bernie was a consultant to the White House assisting with Louisiana media relations. He also served as Press Secretary to Superintendent of Education Kelly Nix.

Bernie is a partner in Southern Media & Opinion Research, Inc., a Baton Rouge-based survey research and consulting firm whose clients include the Louisiana Association of Business and Industry (LABI), major utilities and oil and gas corporations. Southern Media conducts polls for seven TV Stations across Louisiana on issues and elections. He is frequently called upon by the national and state news media to provide political commentary.
