QWS Installation and Setup Instructions
1. Double click on the setup icon you downloaded.
2. A security warning will open and you will have a choice to "run" or "cancel". Select "run".
3. An installation window will open and the program will start to install.
4. During the installation, a window will open and ask if sample files should be installed. Sample files are not necessary and do not have to be selected.
5. Later the installation process will ask a shortcut should be placed on the desktop and in the start menu. I.T. recommends that a shortcut be placed on your desktop only.
6. The installation will also ask if the program should be installed for all users of the computer or just the one installing the software. I.T. recommends that the "all user" choice is selected.
7. Once the installation is complete, double click on the icon the program placed on your desktop.
8. Under "session name" choose "Loyola". Click "connect". You should be connected to the mainframe.
To enable auto login, do the following:
1. Double click on the QWS desktop icon to open the program.
2. Connect to the "Loyola" session.
3. Under the option menu at the top of the screen, select "applications".
4. Under the "startup options" select "auto connect". Click "ok". Click the "x" in the upper right hand corner to quit QWS.
5. Right click on the QWS icon on your desktop. Select "properties".
6. In the "target" field you will see the path "c:\program files\qws3270plus\qws3270p.exe". Put your cursor after the last quotation mark in the path. Press your space bar and enter 141.164.1.12 .
7. Click "ok".
8. Double click on the QWS icon on your desktop. It should automatically connect to the Loyola mainframe.
