Meredith Hartley, Director of Public Affairs and External Relations
Meredith M. Hartley has joined Loyola University New Orleans as the Director of Public Affairs and External Relations.
Prior to this position, Hartley owned and operated a full-service marketing and public relations consulting company in Charleston, SC that provided marketing, public relations, promotion, copy writing, market research and event planning services. Her client list was varied, and included real estate developers, artists and entertainers, a healthcare system and a corporate fundraising firm.
Hartley also has extensive experience in the healthcare industry. She worked for the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston as the community outreach manager where she developed, implemented and tracked the outreach activities for the medical center and its allied providers. Prior to that, she was the public relations manager for Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System in Spartanburg, SC, where she implemented crisis communications and media relations strategies for the system.
Hartley also worked in the news industry as a reporter for several newspapers including The Columbus Ledger-Enquirer (Georgia), The Alexander City Outlook (Alabama), The Sun Herald (Mississippi) and The Opelika-Auburn News (Alabama). She graduated from Auburn University with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Journalism and Anthropology.
